All candidates wishing to attempt the National Certification Exam must maintain their membership status with the CATA for a minimum of 18 months prior to the exam date.

- Online application must be completed within 30 days post marked from your online activation. Application not completed
within this time will be deactivated and you will need to contact the office for reactivation.
- Until all documents and the payment are received in the office, your application cannot be approved and will stay Pending.

CATA Web User Agreement
You (the "User") agree to comply with the following terms and conditions in this User Agreement in your use of this website and the purchase of products and services provided on this website by the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (the "Merchant"):
1. Good and Services Offered
(1) The User may use this website to purchase goods and services offered by the Merchant.
(2) The User may use this website to make payment for Merchant courses, certification exams and membership fees.
2. Prices and Payments
(1) The User understands that he or she will have to provide credit card or other payment information (the "Information") to the Merchant in order to be able to purchase products and services provided on this website. The User represents that the Information provided shall be accurate and complete. The Merchant will use the Information to charge the User for any purchased products or services on this website.
(2) The Merchant reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to make any necessary updates, modifications and adjustments at any time without prior notice to product descriptions, warranties, and prices, due to errors, product discontinuation, changing costs, new market conditions, or any other business factor.
(3) All prices are subject to applicable provincial and federal sales tax, handling charges and shipping charges.
(4) All orders for shipment outside of Canada may be subject to additional taxes, shipping charges, customs and duties, all of which shall be paid and provided for solely by the User.
(5) All prices and fees are in Canadian (CDN) funds.
(6) All purchases and payments can be made using Visa or MasterCard. Charges to the Users credit card will appear as the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association.
(7) The Merchant is not responsible and shall have no liability if a financial institution refuses to honor a User’s credit card or accept a transaction on the User’s account. Although, the User may have credit available, the Merchant may not be able to authorize credit for a particular transaction due to technical or operational difficulties. The User acknowledges that if payment is not received on time for membership fees, whether a result of operational difficulties or credit limits on the User’s credit card, the User’s membership will lapse.
3. Territorial Restriction
The Merchant’s website can be accessed from Canada and other countries around the world. The User understands that some or all products and services provided on this website may not be available for purchase to persons or entities residing in certain jurisdictions or geographical areas. The Merchant reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to exclude or otherwise limit the provision of any product or service to a person or entity residing in any jurisdiction or geographical area. The Merchant does not represent or warrant in any way that any product or service provided on this website will be available for purchase to the User.
4. Warranty
(1) The Merchant provides this website, the information contained within it, and the associated products and services "as is", and expressly disclaim any warranties of any kind, whether expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular use.
(2) Any warranty that is provided in respect of the purchase of any product or service on this website is provided solely by the merchant, manufacturer or owner of that product or service, and not by the Merchant.
(3) The Merchant makes no representations or warranties with respect to the availability of any warranties for products or services used by the User outside Canada.
5. Limitation of Liability
(1) In no event shall the Merchant be liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages arising from this website, its contents or the purchase of any products or services provided on this website.
(2) The Merchant makes reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information on this website. The Merchant shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered due to inaccurate or incomplete information relating to a product or service displayed in this website.
(3) The Merchant shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered arising from the purchase, use or performance of any of the products or services provided on this website.
6. Security
(1) All User credit card information that is collected by the Merchant is collected and sent to the Merchant’s payment partner for use in payment approval and processing only.
(2) The Merchant does not retain your credit card information.

7. Return / Refund
(1) All returns and/or refunds will be processed through the Merchant’s National Office and will be made in accordance with the Merchant’s return/ refund policies in effect on the date of the exchange.
(2) Refunds of the Application Fee and Membership Dues:
a full refund will be granted, less a $50.00 processing fee, if the request for withdrawal is received within 30 days of the application / renewal date. Subsequently, refunds will be prorated based on the number of months of membership up to a maximum of 8 months. No refunds will be granted after 8 months of membership.
(3) Certification Exam Refund Policy:
Conditions
1. All fees are to be:
- payable to the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association;
- by certified cheque, money order or credit card; and
- In Canadian funds
Withdrawals
- Certification Candidates who formally withdraw their applications on or before the refund deadline will receive a full exam refund except for the nonrefundable application fee.
- Certification Candidates who formally withdraw their applications after the refund deadline forfeit all application fees.
- Certification Candidates who withdraw their applications due to personal illness or a family emergency are assessed the administration fee only if applicable. The Certification Candidate is responsible to formally notify the exam coordinator of the reason for withdrawal.
Examination Cancellations
If the start time for the written portion of the Certification Examination is delayed by 30 minutes or more, the examination may be cancelled after consultation with the coordinator/designate of the written examination. The coordinator/designate of the written examination must be available (by telephone) for consultation in the event of conflicts or difficulties during the examination time period.
If it is necessary to cancel a written examination for any unforeseen circumstances the exam will re-scheduled at the next most convenient time upon consultation with the CBoCAT committee, the CATA BOD and our external stakeholders.
Refunds
- Cancellation fees: if the Canadian Board of Certification for Athletic Therapy (CBoCAT) cancels the NCE for any reason, all candidates will automatically be registered for the next NCE date. Special Considerations for a full refund can be made by a request to the Exam Coordinator.
8. Entire Agreement
(1) This User Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the Merchant and the User, and cancels any written or oral agreements between the parties.
(2) The parties understand and agree that this Agreement may be modified, supplemented or superseded by any agreement or license between the User and a Merchant at the time of purchase of a product or service on this website.
